There's nothing like wandering down the streets of Umbrian hill towns to get a sense that the United States is a very young country.  Here's a view from a window in Arezzo, another ancient town a couple of hours from Orvieto.  And another photograph of Orvieto, timeless.  We can't imagine what it's like in this country to walk streets that have seen life for a thousand years.  At Umbria Jazz Winter, they take it for granted.
