Izmir

On July 5 the Young Fellaz Brass Band made a stop in Izmir for another performance for the U.S. State Department and the Ambassador to Turkey.

The staff at the U.S. Consulate, in particular Dr. Gozde Dogan-Yalciner, Aysegul Taskin, and  Sevil Sezan, has been extremely gracious and helpful with logistics, interpreting, and making sure we got through the airports and to the performance venues.

It was a beautiful night for an outdoor performance at Spacecamp in this picturesque city on the Aegean Sea. The view from our room at the Izmir Hilton was reminiscent of the French Riviera or southern California, and although the band was only there for one night, we all had a chance to have a leisurely lunch and take a walk to the seashore before heading to the venue for the evening performance.

And once again the band made a great impression for the attendees of the event. Izmir will most assuredly remember these talented young musicians.
